Compliments Today and Tomorrow

We’ve been doing community compliments this week on Twitter, and it’s been so great to hear everyone publicly acknowledge the good people and their kindness in our community. Every tweet I see recognizing a wizard or pirate for their contributions to our Spiral has “done my heart good”. I say we need to keep this going…

I’m really lucky in that I have the attention and the friendship of so many members of our community, and I see this firsthand every time I go into the Spiral.  Everything from a simple, “Hi, how’s it going? Need a hand with that boss fight?” to an expensive hatch (my new Crow is a BEAST!), to an e-mail or chat room question for the show; all of it really brightens my day and improves not just my mood, but my whole game experience.

So over the next month or so, I’m going to use my Twitter feed (@spiritcaller) to make sure everyone knows about it. There are simply too many people to whom I owe this thanks for me to post it right here. It’d wind up being a doctoral thesis of why-the-Spiral-is-awesome, and I wouldn’t want anyone to read that at one sitting.

I am going to get started, however, and I’m gonna do it today. It’d be easy to start with Christina, and I’ll get to her very soon, but I’m going to start with Sophia Lifecaster. One of the things we wanted to do when we started doing the new show was stream gameplay on our Twitch channel. We haven’t done as much over the last few weeks (mostly because we’ve been playing a lot of Borderlands 2 and Diablo 3, neither of which is exactly family-friendly), but every time we stream Sophia stops by to hang out with us. She’s occasionally the only thing between us and an empty chat room, and that’s a kindness that means a great deal to everyone on our side of the screen.

But that’s not all. Sophia has tipped us off in the past when there’s a breaking news story. That’s just invaluable. Without a dedicated research staff we have to go with every resource we can find, and having an outsider willing to help us out just flat makes our show better. There’s no other way to say it.

She’s even written for the blog before, and if you haven’t checked out her post on Aion, you totally should. You should also go check out the KI fansite she co-admins, Adventures of the Spiral, because it’s awesome.

So thank you, Sophia, your friendship and contributions to our show and our blog are treasured by all of us.

Have a great weekend and I’ll see you in the Spiral!

  1. You do not understand how much I smiled while reading this. Thank you very much. I wasn’t having a good start to my day but this really brought me up. Again, thank you for that.

I want to say that one of the reasons I’ve been so involved with Spiral Radio is because of all of you. You are all the most honest and funny people I’ve met in the longest time. I’m glad to help out whenever I can because, after all, we both have the same goal, help the community whether it’s with information or keeping them entertained.

Thank you, again, for brightening my day. 🙂

  3. A terrific idea. The Twitter blessings have been rolling through and so many are totally getting the warm fuzzies and I can just FEEL healing happen. I have also noticed that the drama is almost nonexistent. It’s all in what we chose to focus on. When we focus one each other’s strengths and how much we appreciate each other then our hearts are so full that there is no room for nit picking and drama. Bless on Twizards & Twriates. <3
