What’s in a Game? Introduction Post!

Hey gang! I’m here with some super exciting news.  I’ll be doing a bi-weekly column here on spiralradio101.com, publishing on Wednesdays we don’t have a live show!  Sounds like fun, right?  Right.  I knew you’d be on board.  What can you expect from a column from me?  Well, I’m here to break it down before we tread in these uncharted waters.  It’ll be an adventure for all of us.

Expect the unexpected.  Really.  I love our KI games as much as the next guy, but they won’t be the focus of this bit.  I play a lot of games, and I want to share them with you all.  One week I may be plugging Planetside 2 (T for Teen), the next you’ll find yourself reading about Star Trek Online (T for Teen).  As you might have noticed, I’ll always give an ESRB rating for whatever I review, and I’ll always link to the main site for each game.  Be warned: the Internet can be a terrifying place, and we can’t control what’s on the other side of those!  Sometimes I’ll include some referral information, because a few games offer special beginner’s kit if you come via referral link!  DC Universe Online (T for Teen) is one of those, for instance.

If it’s not a review, you’ll get some tips for being a better gamer in the online scene.  Maybe eventually you’ll see something about how to be a better raid healer.  Only time will tell.  Oh, and usually (98% of the time) these will be free-to-play titles.

I would love to hear about the great games you all play, so I can see about testing it and maybe reviewing it!  I know it’s a bit short, but I’ve said about all I think I need to.  I’ll begin my regularly scheduled postings on December 4th, so check back in again there!  In the meantime, feel free to drop me a comment and I’ll start making a list about what to test. Hopefully my system will be able to handle the titles you all want to hear about.  In the meantime, I’ve got some great stuff churning away and just waiting for a good release day.

  1. You should check out Champions Online (T for Teen). It’s a F2P superhero MMO with lots of customization options. I enjoy it and would be interested in your opinion on the game.

    • I’ve added that to the list! DC Universe Online is my current Super-heroic title, but I’m willing to give anything a shot once. It’ll crop up sometime in the review cycle, I just can’t guarantee how soon.

  2. i had fun in Rise of Mythos (T for Teen) , browse based F2P trading card game MMORTS a satisfying game if you waiting for say Hearthstone to finally come out for those like me not in beta.

  3. I am looking forward to your comments of the games you play. You’ve always shown me a new side to them. This will be a great column.
